Frames.
Search engine treat each frames and iframes as a separate page. This will confuse the search engines and the users.

Redirects.
Search engines will in most cases not index pages that have redirects. Or follow the redirects.

Ajax and Javascript.
Search engines have difficulty understanding pages with a lot of Javascript, especially Ajax. Avoid it on pages that you want to be properly indexed such as web shops.

Flash, Silverlight and Java.
Interactive technology such as Flash, Silverlight and Java is even worse than Javascript.
It is especially important to avoid using them on the home page as the search engine might not find any links to the rest of the site.

Pictures.
If you use images to display text on your pages, please use the alt text tag to get the page properly indexed.
